T Minus 52 days

... and counting.

Sabbatical's coming up, and when I told someone at work today that it started in "about seven weeks", I was castigated for not knowing the exact day count. So I counted - and it's 52 days.

Plans are taking shape. I'll fly down solo for the first 3.5 weeks, then return to PDX, spend a couple days with family and friends, grab Kid Pax, and head back south. We'll spend about four more weeks in Mexico, heading home at the last possible minute in August, no doubt. Somewhere in there I'll spend a couple days at the borg, checking in with the guy who's covering me while I'm out. He leaves before I'm back, so we'll need to synch on things before he heads out.

My fantasy is to figure out how to work there for a semester or something, let the kid be an exchange student, etc... but for now, getting ready for the summer's probably enough.
